Verbs positions itself with Lee Lozano’s All verbs, “List of titles of paintings 1964-67 (May)”, Richard Serra’s “Verb List Compilation: Actions to Relate to Oneself” (1967-68), and Paul Kuritz‘s “Tactics” verb list from Playing: An Introduction to Acting, Prentice-Hall (1982). Recognizing verbs that are enacted by human and machine, we reject the separation of digital life and the physical world.
Verbs can be activated for digital performance and intervention, framing the everyday as systems of ritualized everyday tasks.
